Hello fellow geeks!
We hope you are all doing well and keeping safe. Today's the day when we find out what Boris plans for schools, shops, restaurants and the rest of the country as we prepare to reopen again - it's just a matter of when!
We are really hoping for some good news and hoping we are able to reopen again very soon. We are missing you all like mad and welcoming excited little faces (even big kids!) to browse around our Harry Potter shop upstairs. Keep everything crossed for us!
This week we meet our last brand rep Elly, who runs @diagon_elly_ on Instagram. Elly is possibly one of the newest accounts we have followed on Instagram, but her warm and cosy aesthetic in her photos help us feel right at home!
So let's jump straight in, for the last time, and meet Elly!

First of all, do you solemnly swear you are up to no good?
"Always up to no good. 'What’s life without a little risk?', as Sirius would say!"
How long have you been a Harry Potter fan?
"My earliest memory of becoming a fan was when I was about 7 or 8 (now 23!). On a trip to Ireland, my mum's friends gave me The Philosophers Stone as her son didn’t like it (a crime, I know!) and I remember reading it all night under the covers! I have been a fan of the magical escape ever since & never looked back!"
When did you start collecting and what was your first piece?
"I didn’t start really collecting magical items until recently. My cousins went to Orlando a few years ago and brought me back a Chocolate Frog, my first item was the card (Godric Gryffindor!). It was so magical having an item that felt like it had been taken right from the Wizarding World!"
What is your favourite piece in your collection?
"I’m very easily pleased by little magical things so I would have to say my Marauders Map replica, it is just stunning. Anything Marauders Map theme I am here for and just LOVE!"
What is on your wishlist?
"Oooh so many things!! Definitely need to get my hands on Theseus Scamander’s wand, it is my most favourite wand ever, so stunning!"
Which is your favourite book and/or movie?
"Both my favourite book and movie is The Prisoner of Azkaban! I just love the cosy vibes to it (minus the Dementors, not so cosy, lol), I also love the introduction of Remus Lupin and seeing the beginning of the relationship between Harry and Sirius."
Why did you want to become a brand rep for The Geek Side?
"I followed The Geek Side’s Instagram for a while. I loved the shop and the sense of humour on the posts. I saw the opportunity to apply, so I thought what a nice way to support a shop, have a bit of fun and make a new friend (which I did, Zoe is brill!)"
What is your favourite Harry Potter item at The Geek Side?
"The Trunk Gift set is just stunning! Also, the Nimbus 2000 Replica is a dream... who wouldn’t want their own broom?!"
What are you hoping to purchase next from The Geek Side?
"I definitely have my eye on the Marauders Map Jigsaw Puzzle to keep me going through these lockdown evenings! That is next on my to buy list!"
