Fan Feature February - Brand Rep Edition - Disneybookworm

Hello fellow geeks,

We hope you are keeping safe and well - and most importantly, warm! We've had quite a lot of snow over the last few weeks, and we're due the 'Beast from the East 2' this week! Sorry to say this may case a few delays with the post, but remember to use discount code OTHERSIDE10 on all purchases as a thank you for waiting a little longer for your goodies.

We'd also like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has continued to support us so far through the third lockdown here in the UK. It really does mean the world to us!

As you may know throughout February we are going to be running weekly blogs featuring our new brand reps! This week, we are say hello to our newest brand rep, Charlotte who runs the Facebook and instagram pages @disneybookworm. Charlotte is a self proclaimed Disney fanatic but enjoys many of the fandoms that we stock.

Charlotte lived locally to us and first came into store a couple of years ago and asked permission to take photos for her Disney Instagram account, and of course, we said yes!

Let's jump straight in and say hi to Charlotte!

***

First of all, do you solemnly swear you are up to no good?

"I swear!"

How long have you been a Disney and Harry Potter fan?

"I've been a Harry Potter fan since the first book came out really. We always had to buy at least 3 copies in my house because we all had to read it at the same time. I remember my mum made me go with her to queue outside at midnight for one of the books so she didn't 'look weird'.

"Disney however has been a life long obsession. My parents took me and my brother to Disneyland Paris when we were 3 and 4 and the first film I saw in the cinema was The Lion King. I've always been obsessed with reading too so Disney Bookworm has kind of been inevitable I guess."

When did you start collecting and what was your first piece?

"Oooh I can't remember really. It's kind of built up over time. I remember my cousin worked in The Disney Store and got me some posters as a gift. I went back to Disneyland Paris for my 21st with my girls. Then my uni friends always bought me Disney stuff as gifts and once my school friend Sew Dough Co started making ears it was a slippery slope!"

What is your favourite piece in your collection?

"This changes all the time. At the moment it is my first ever Loungefly bag which was a Christmas gift from a very good friend."

What is on your wishlist? "I really want to visit Disney world one day. I also really want to stay in the Disneyland hotel." ️ Which is your favourite book and/or movie?

"I love so many Disney films but beauty and the beast, Aladdin and hercules are my favourites."

Why did you want to become a brand rep for The Geek Side?

"I've stalked Zoe for years I am very lucky to live locally to the shop and can't help calling in when I pass. Zoe is always smiley and chatty and always has such an amazing selection of geeky merchandise. I'm always at the Disney section, my youngest at the Harry Potter section and my eldest at the Minecraft and Mario shelves."

What is your favourite item at The Geek Side?

"The Ravenclaw Diadem is even prettier in person trust me! My 7 year old says definitely his golden snitch book light and my 5 year old is shouting 'Niffler' and the top of his voice!"

What are you hoping to purchase next from The Geek Side?

"Unfortunately it is nearly my eldest's 8th birthday so it will probably something Minecraft related. A sneaky Disney item might fall into my basket though."

We want to say a huge thank you to Charlotte for taking part and for becoming a rep for our little shop! We're so proud to have you on board and we will (hopefully!) see you soon!

We have included links to the items purchased from us by Charlotte in the photos above. Please go give her a follow here, and receive special discount codes for our website online.

Next week we will be back with another rep - so stay tuned!

Much love,

Team Geek x
