First off, what on Earth is this storm all about? We sadly had to close yesterday due to flooding and trees being knocked down in the road. So I turned the car around, nipped to the shop and bought snacks and had a day in front of the tele instead! We hope it passes sooner rather than later, so that you can visit us and see all the new goodies arriving! Apologies for the lack of blog posts lately. We've been busy moving house and it's taken up a lot of time to get things sorted. However you may have seen that we have been running a giveaway and raffle to celebrate the theme of the Harry Potter Book Night theme - the Triwizard Tournament.
First we ran a giveaway to win a copy of the brand new house copy of The Goblet of Fire, to celebrate their arrival. The lucky winner was Lyndsey Wray (@quillsandquaffles on Instagram - we'd recommend giving her account a follow, her collection is incredible!)
Here's what she had to say:
When did you first get into Harry Potter?
"I was around 12 when I was first introduced to Harry Potter, when a youth group took us to see The Philosopher's Stone."
Which is your favourite book?
"My favourite book is The Half Blood Prince."
...And film?
"My favourite film is The Deathly Hallows Part 1."
What Hufflepuff traits do you possess?
"I'm very loyal and trustworthy. I've also been told I have a lot of patience but I think I'm just good at hiding impatience."
What are your favourite parts about The Goblet of Fire?
"I love the dragons and the Quidditch World Cup."
...And the worst?
"I've always found the Death Eaters torturing Muggles at the Quidditch World Cup uncomfortable, so I'd have to say that's one of the worst parts for me, oh and Rita Skeeter! That woman is toxic!"

We then ran a raffle to win a wand of a Triwizard Champion of your choice! The lucky winner was Chris Hadwin, who won the wand for his girlfriend, Dawn, who chose faithful Cedric Diggory's wand.

When did you first get into Harry Potter?
"I got into Harry Potter when I first read Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone book when I was 8ish."
What are your favourite parts from The Goblet of Fire?
"Favourite parts of The Goblet of Fire is when Fred and George turn old when they try to put their names into the goblet of fire."
...And the worst?
"When Cedric Dies. It was a really unnecessary death!"
Which is your favourite Triwizard Champion? And why?
"Harry is my favourite champion because Barty Crouch Jr. put his name in the goblet. Harry has to face all those challenges and even though I thought he was probably going to die when he had to get the golden egg from the Hungarian Horntail dragon, but he prevailed!"
Why did you choose Cedric's wand?
"Cedric put his life on the line to save Harry when they fought Voldemort, which made me cry like a baby when he died and everyone realised he was dead... 'twas very upsetting."
