Hello Super fans!
And welcome to our brand new super fan blog.
Our first Harry Potter super fan is Matt! So let's jump straight in..
First of all, do you solemnly swear you are up to no good?
"I solemnly swear I’m up to no good."
Please tell us your name, age and where you are from...
"Matthew, forty three, from Burnley in Lancashire, wow that sounds so old when you type it out."
How long have you been a Harry Potter fan?
"I have been a fan of the Wizarding World since July 2000. I bought the first four books when 'The Goblet of Fire' launched and I have been a fan ever since."
Which is your favourite book and/or movie?
"My favourite book is the 'Half-Blood Prince', I felt it developed more of the characters from the Weasley family and who doesn’t love reading about the Weasleys and The Burrow?"
Who is your favourite character and why?
"Luna Lovegood, adding in a character who doesn’t fit what people was considered 'normal' was great. She’s a strong witch who lives life her own way. As JKR said, Luna is sort of an anti-Hermione, instead of logic she can 'believe 10 impossible things before breakfast'."
Which Hogwarts House were you sorted into?
"I’m a Ravenclaw through and through. The blue and bronze are colours that suit me. I would much prefer the dorms in Ravenclaw's tower than those elsewhere, imagine the view."
What is your Patronus?
"My Patronus is a Wild Rabbit, not quite sure why it’s wild though."
Would you rather travel by Portkey, Broomstick, or Floo Powder?
"It has to be a broomstick doesn’t it? The freedom of flight is a fantasy many people have and I’m not immune to it either. Floo powder always seemed so messy and portkeys are not that flexible."
What is your favourite Harry Potter item purchased from The Geek Side?
"My Luna Lovegood mug quoting 'You’re just as sane as I am' it’s a nice reminder when I drink out of it."
What are you hoping to purchase next from The Geek Side?
"I honestly have no idea , there are so many great items, I have had my head turned by a few of the pictures I see on the walls and you can never have too many mugs. Then you start looking at all the wands and I realise I have the space on my shelves at home for them too."
Which of the Deathly Hallows would you most like to possess?
"Without a doubt the cloak of invisibility. The idea of being able to pass by without being seen is great. Besides it would mean I could sit and read without being disturbed."
Mischief Managed!
A huge thank you to Matt for taking part and being our first Harry Potter super fan. We look forward to seeing you soon and helping you grow your collection of mugs!
Much love,
Team Geek x
